An intercooler would really make things cramped in the engine bay. Since it will only be pulling a fraction of what it was designed to we don't think an intercooler will be needed. This model wasn't even intercooled from the factory.

keep the stock injectors and you should be fine without an IC. dont forget the EGT gauge;D

Enjoyed a trip south today to eb central-aka Modman's fab shop. The install on the 7.3 is incredible and I got to hear it run-cool!!! As usuall fantastic work. I will look forward to more posts from Modman on his latest successful project when it is complete enough to suit the doctor :)

Intercoolers didn't show up from the factory until '99.

A water-air unit could be tucked away somewhere. Granted it will probably cost $2k new aftermarket (Vortech aftercooler or similar).

Those engines really are fun to play with/custom tune. Put an EGT guage on it to monitor what's happening. Low risk if EVERYTHING is in stock configuration, but easy insurance. Even small intake/exhst changes can change EGT by a couple hundred degrees.

Did you get to take it for a drive. I am interested to see how it turned out. Should be a wild ride with that much torque on tap.

Yes, It worked out great over all. We had one little problem with the VSS which controls transmission shifts but have found a solution for that. It was at the F100 nationals in Knox last weekend. Customer plans to put 100hp tune on it since he has the axle wrap under control. He also plans to be at Carlisle for the nationals. I will try to post a video clip soon.

Hey, that's good news! I look forward to seeing it.

Have you checked the fuel mileage on this thing yet?

Tell him to call Tony Wildman www.totaldieselperformance.com he can tune anything with a 7.3L PSD!!!!;D ;D

Is he going to do injectors, or turbo or anything?

I would SO kill myself with a PSD Early Bronco. Stage II injectors, double electric fuel pumps, BDP Dominator 66 turbo, Dual HPOPs, custom tuning. Haha have the frame twisted in a week!!!
