Hey guys, next weekend we are planning to run Smiley Rock.

My plan is to meet at the Chino Valley, Safeway at 10:00 and head out from there. I've run the trail with 31"s and a rear locker and with some spotting and careful tire placement it can be done, but there's one rock that really likes to eat rocker's, so I'd recomment 33"s and a locker. The trail only takes 2-3 hours and dumps out at the top of Mingus Mountain. Plan for a whole day as there's a possibility of an additional suprise after the trail ride.

This is a great chance to get out of the Valley heat and see some new country.

Please post up if your interested!

Casey, I was hoping to be able to go on this run, but motoman's getting married that Saturday up in Sedona. I'll be up there Friday through Sunday. But... I will be driving the Bronco!

I guess my timing stinks! I was hoping to take you and Greg so you two knew where the trail was... I suppose getting married is a 'good enough' excuse though? What time is the ceremony?

Dave, aka Rockin69er is going to set up a tour of the Drake cement plant for us. He gave us a tour of the Perkinsville plant a few years ago, and it was pretty awesome. My kids still talk about it. This will make it a great kids trip for sure!

I can make it Casey. I was hoping Steve would be there to make sure my OX locker was adjusted right. The new cement plant I work at is 10 miles north of the Safeway so we can do a quick tour before the run if you like. A few weeks ago I had a Jeep tour at the plant so I need pics of a Bronco tour now!! Plus I have new wheels to try out/show off.

Here are a few pics of the last run, including some of the Clarkdale cement plant. The Drake plant does not use the big rock trucks everyone liked.

Rehersal and stuff Friday. Greg's got some stuff planned for Saturday during the day. Ceremony is at 5:00PM Saturday. Hangover starts early Sunday morning.

I'm planning on taking Schnebly Hill road from Sedona to I17 on the way home Sunday.

Dave, I'm sorry I'm going to miss the tour. I work with industrial process control systems, so I could appreciate a better understanding of the process.

I will almost for sure be there. Just gotta finalize a sitter since I dont have my family cage in yet. Might even bring the wifey :)

Seeing as how the chino safeway is 5 minutes from my house, I see no reason to miss it

Since I can remember Schnebly has been washboardy (is that a word??:?) so it should be perfect with an overhang.;D

If you still have my work email let me know and I can give you a tour most any time.

Casey, I have your run posted. FYI, I noticed also that the ACB Pavillions Run is the same day.

Sorry we're going to miss the run guys! I can't believe it's been 3 years since we did ACB run up there.

My wife and I went to college at Embry Riddle and I haven't been back since 2000. Did a ton of wheeling in my '87 Ranger. I miss that place! Tear it up and have a good day guys!

I'd love to go but I am burning all my spare time, and money, with a one ton injected 460 swap on the Whale. Have fun without me.

Congratulations Greg

Bump for the Monday crowd.

***Due to some family/summer time logistics I may bump this run to Saturday the 16th. If that works better for the majority please let me know asap.***

Well, it does work better for me! Count me in if you move it to the 16th.

Will be on my honeymoon amigo!

I am not seeing the problem.;D;D

Casey I can move things to the 16th. I might even pre run the trail this weekend with my coworker with the jeep and quickdrummer. Plus it won't be the same weekend as the pavillions show which might allow more Phx people to make it.
