The biggest progressive spring user I think is Duff. And they have the springs paired with there shocks. I've understood that if used together it is a system that works.
Generally see linear rate springs, and those are matched to modern shocks. And those are a system that works.
Key notes for both are they are systems with matched parts. I'm more of a linear rate with modern shocks type of person. But that is just personal preference. I've ridden in some stuff with modern shocks that was pretty amazing.
I remember the days of lift kits that got height and little else. The stiffer the better, it's more heavy duty that way. Superlift was known as superstiff. Then the world of soft ride springs came out. And we went the complete opposite direction, who had the lowest spring rate and the most travel. To the point that things were getting undrivable at anything over a crawl speed. Now things are coming back a little bit. Still like the soft ride and good travel, but actually drivable as well. My daily driver has large body shocks on the front and remote reservoir 5165s in back. That's for a boring stock height daily driver on highway tires. Stuff that was the trickest race stuff ever heard of when you got that superstiff lift back in high school.
There will be a ton of packages that people are using and happy with. Trying to pick through which one is best for you could be tough.
