I had to cut off 8 3/4" to make the length correct - a bit of grinding was needed to make it fit just right.
Last two pics show some of the trimming necessary to make it fit. The bottom and either side of the top needed to be trimmed. Honestly it was just trial and error (hence the scratches on the bottom of the tailgate).
The pan rests against the rear frame horns so kinda, but not really. If someone were to rear-end me and hit just in the right place (between the two frame horns) or at the right speed it could potentially cause the tank to rupture.
Although considering my bronco gets about 10MPG theres never much gas in the tank anyways!!!
IMO, a prerunner would got against the grain, considering the rear. Its like a chick with DD and no A$$, just not quite right. If it were me, I'd probably go for a stockish chrome or body colored in keeping a street truck. My $.02
I took my inspiration for a prerunner from the green sandrunner. It has a roll pan and a front prerunner and I liked the way it went together. Of course, it would be mostly cosmetic but I've got a stock chrome bumper on there now and its just not "doing it" for me.
I think a plate bumper would be too beefy and not look right either.
I'm thinking a prerunner that will match my new cage (oops)
