The engine is in.
I have 3 areas of concern, power steering pump (using the motor sport bracket), Alternator, and my modified steering column.

The column may take some work, the other two areas can be fixed by either the $1400 kit from BC or a kit from Power By The Hour that does the same thing for $599. I will take a shot at fabricating it first.

Once I have that done I will modify the headers and it should be pretty easy from there out!

BTW, for those of you looking to do a Coyote swap, Summit has a kit for about $7k that includes the engine and the harness kit. I will I had seen that before I bought my engine.

Did your 4.6 motor mounts work with the 5.0? I think they are the same. I bought a mid plate and motor mounts but I have it sitting in the frmae bolted to the trans and the mid plate and motor mount position are pretty close. I am not sure what I should do, I want to use a mid and front plate now but need to find a good place to mount to on the drivers side. I am still unsure on what I am going to use for alt/power steering mounts. I really like KRC's power steering mount on the front of the engine right next to water pump. I would like to use FRPP's Boss alternator mount but not sure if it will clear the frame? I seen the location of your alt on the pic with the motor dressed it was in the same spot. Will it clear? You have a nice steed and I like the color (I bought a new commando green rubicon last year)! But don't hold that against me! (Work for Chrysler)

Yea, I am using all the same mounts from my 4.6, including my motor mounts. BTW, they are modman motor mounts and are a nice piece.

I was able to notch my steering column and now have 1/2 inch clearance. It actually has a little more than my 4.6.

I am really struggling with the power steering pump. The alt I can have face the engine on the PS side, I just need to figure out how to mount the ps pump. None of the mounts I have seen will clear my steering box, with the exception of the BC kit. Even though his comes with an alternator, I hate to spend that much, especially since I have several laying around both 4.6 and the new 5.0.

If you have the link to the KRC pump please post it. I will see if what they have works.

Here's the link, they have a better price than going directly through KRC. It is pricey but $500 is the pump but you can order just the brackets through KRC's website and put your own pump on. http://www.krcpower.com/
If you did not have a power steering box, would the alternator clear the frame? That is my main concern, hate to buy the Boss kit and not have it fit. I really like the mounting location on this power steering though. Want a good pump since everything on mine will be hydraulic so I will spring for their pump also. I assume you are running the controls pack, are you using a handheld tuner? I was planning a SCT, I see you used them with your 4.6 and sounds like it worked good? I may use the factory headers but swap sides and reverse them and mount the turbo's directly to them, looks like it will clear perfect. Keep us posted on progress, I will try and come up with a engine mounting solution this weekend.

Here is my current progress,
I shaved one side of my column and now have 1/2" of clearance...problem solved.
I loosened my steering box and with it out around 3/8" there is a slight interference with a boss on the alternator. If I make a spacer to go between the box and the frame and shave the boss on the alternator down a little, I should be able to use the factory alternator and mount.

With that I just need to get the remote oil filter block and replace the factory oil filter location.

I like that KRC steering pump, my factory 4.6 was a little weak with 35's and I am now on 37's, I could use a better pump and putting it where they do would solve my problems.

I do not see how you are going to get the Ford motorsport hinged power steering pump bracket to work. There just is no room for the pump against the frame. If you think you can I will give you a deal on the one I have.

The nice part about this all is I should be into the pump and bracket for $500 and if at some point down the road I want to use the factory AC pump I still have room.

Dennis, thanks for the pics of the alternator. I can now order the Boss alternator kit with confidence it will fit!. I will also be using that KRC pump and bracket, I really like the location. Keep up the good work and I hope to posting some pics of my motor mounted by the end of the weekend.

I talked to the guys at KRC, they recommended Krc 66302050 the kit for cast iron pump, bracket and water pump pulley. They also suggested the remote resevoir KRC 91500000.

This will outflow a factory ford pump and has changeable flow valves if I run a ram or something bigger.

Dennis, how's that install going? I welded in the mid-plate brackets and opened the box for the motor mounts I ordered from Summit only to find 2 left hand mounts. They are shipping me another box. I used the universal mounts that Tin Man fabricating makes, should work good. Thanks for the KRC info, I am going to use their stuff. I love the location of the pump! Just checked those KRC part numbers and that will save me a few hundred bucks! Thanks

I have not done anything since my last post. We just got back from a spring break trip with the kids. I need to get going on it, maybe this weekend.

Progress has been slow. I have worked through all my interference issues. The KRC kit is very nice, I am slowly starting reassembly which is nice. Here are some progress pictures.

You are doing better than I am. I'm in that hard spot (but good) that work is giving us whatever hours we want so been working 12's mixed in with some 14's. Have to get that tub bought then going after the turbo's but unfortunately the progress suffers. Have to have parts before I can put them on. Shocks will be here next week. I am just glad that that alternator will fit in between the frame rails and the KRC kit looks perfect. Thanks for update! Oh one more thing, what are you using for an ECU? Controls pack? AEM just came out with a stand alone system for the coyote that runs everything like the VVT and fly by wire throttle, here's the link. http://www.aemelectronics.com/artic...ble-ecu-available-for-ford-coyote-race-e-151/

Coyote Conversion

I made the best progress I have in months. Finished both headers. With the 4.6 I ran the headers under the oil pan and with anything above 4" of compression the driveshaft on my full width axles would hit. Now I ran it between the driveshaft and the frame. I should have an inch of clearance on either side. I have a plan to possibly increase that on the driveshaft side.

Finished my 4r70w dipstick tube, extended the MAF and throttle pedal harness. Terminated about a dozen wires and finished my custom intake so I can use the factory air box supplied with the Coyote harness.

It was a good day, I see a VERY slight glimmer, it might be the light at the end of the tunnel!

Dennis, looking really good! How was the controls pack install? Did you cut and re-work the headers that came with the engine? Can't wait to get the results when you fire it! My engine is being sold on ebay as we speak. I am buying the low compression Aluminator. They want $7000 to put forged internals in my current engine!!! Money ahead going this route. Buying the turbo's Labor Day weekend and I have ordered a new Bronco Designs trail tub but I won't be able to take possession till February. Gives me time to split wood I guess! Keep us posted!

I'm back at it making slow progress. I really missed having it to drive this last summer!

After a holiday hiatus, I jumped back on the Coyote swap today. I am burned out on this swap, but I need to get it done before next summer. Its been almost a year since I had it going. I am thinking about selling it but I need to get it back running and driving first.
