Small Progress...

Made Progress today....not much but nevertheless its progress. I moved the Coil cups forward and out, to accommodate my Full Width Axles. Now it sits up by her own sprung weight. Next step..Track Bar Riser, steering links and front shock mounts. What sucks, is having to ride bitch/spotter- with my brother and his local Heep club to get my Wheel on....Going out on one this weekend....wish me luck.

Aw, come on man. You can have it done by April, I just know it.

Looking good so far. Keep it up.

Nice! What are you going to do for front shocks? I am installing my inboard shock hoop this week, so it's helpful to see your's in place!

Love the broomstick tie rod, btw!

I have a set of Cage shocks that mount to the arms and F250 shock mounts to weld on soon. Oh, and the broomstick trick is just one of my custom touches.;)

***101 wheel base stretch****

Well I decided to bite the bullet and stretch is out to a total of 101 inch WB. Here is some pictures for reference for you fellas that might want to mimic what I have done. I pushed the front forward 1.5 inches more and the rear 3 inches more.

Great Build thread!

What do you have in mind for your rear fenders since the rear wheels are so far back? I was hoping to do the "flat-fender" look but had to bring my cut back down into the corners in order to save room for the tail lights and keep the structure strength.

It's coming along, and you're definitely on the right track.

PS - thanks for the bubble wrap, it was a pleasant ride home...

I'm Dove Tailing the rear with my original Uncut quarters. Look up Howiebuilt, similar to what he has done...it's really the only choice, unless you cut the hell out of the quarters.

I'll bet she didn't even finish the popping until after you made it home....I couldn't resist, Page is adorable and very smart, thanks for coming by last night for my Steering 101 class.

Nice job dude, I can't wait to see that thing get to the next step! I love the uncut dove-tail idea! Also I love your choice of welding helmet, I have the same one and love it! I just can't see spending the kind of money that some helmets cost. I wish I were closer, I would love to pitch in with it.

Gotcha... I considered turning my rear quarters in but decided not to so I can run a soft top. I dig that look though - especially with uncut fenders.

My whole body is really rusted away, so I decided to try and retain the look by reusing as much of the original outer skin and dash as possible, the rest really is not salvageable on my Bronc...I've got a line on some diamond plate type sheets I'll utilize for the inside.

You are really cooking on that thing! Looking really great too! What are you going to do for Tierod and Drag link, are you building your own Heim joint system?
