Can I use a glue or silicone that will keep it from tearing more once powered up!?? ;D ...IF SO WHAT KIND?

Check out the pic!

Tape ?? .... speakers move air , thats about it. You've already messed up the acoustics of it , at least help bring back its efficency of moving the air.

The way I am looking at this is that it is in a very noisy truck with no doors and no top.

.All I need is loud and the speaker to not tear any more. ;D %) heh-heh

Any one have any other suggetions?
Thanks

you can also look into some types of clear epoxy resigns, once those things set then the never come off. make sure its the one in 2 different tubes, i beleive they sell small amounts. looks like 2 saringes, its like fingernail polish just stronger and last longer

heh-heh..go ahead and say it!...well I guess you already did!...

I used some rubber type glue..so it really does not seem like a big deal.

As my mom used to say... "That's what you get"!%) ...heh-heh ;D

Looks like a Pioneer 6x9 from the picture? the speaker is made of a plastic material, so your best bet is to use an epoxy that is designed for plastic. about $4 at any local store. Be sure to only get it on the hole and try to clean it smooth on the front. Doesn't really matter if it is sloppy on the back, just don't have a big glob that will weight the speaker down and constrict its ability to move.

Boy! ...you know your speakers!

I had some silicone type glue, fixed it last night. I have a feeling I am not going to be able to even notice any evidence of the tear. After all it is a loud truck, with no doors! All I need is volume! heh-heh..

And as long as I don't hear any buzzing or EXTRA rattles I should be fine!

"Crispness" is for fully enclosed, luxury cars! %) IMHO - ha-ha ;D

I have the same speakers and punched the same hole in it years ago. I never did anything with it. And have never noticed a differance in sound. But it is a bronco that dose not have a roof on 90% of the time so sound quality sucks anyway!!!

Is there a difference in the way the speaker sounds? If not, don't worry about it and replace the 6 X 9's in a few years. You could put a little CA glue on it, but it's a band aid fix. (Cyanoacrylate (CA) glue is normally found at hobby shops. Extremely strong for the volume you use.)

If there's a difference in the way it sounds, you'll probably have to replace it.
