I need help. I am putting a front disc conversionon my 73 that I got from horsepower. I just finished installling the last spindle nut and want to put my old ford hubs on. Directions say I should put on new Warn hubs but can put on the old. How do I do it? Do I put the old hubs on with the old coil, and snap rings the same way? there doesn't seem to be enough room on the end of my axle?

Yes you still use the old spring but you have to leave the small outer snap ring off as you've found out there's not enough room for it. The big snap ring should still fit. Some axle shafts have a bolt hole in the end and some people use a fender washer and bolt to hold the hub in others just install without anything. Check out all the writeups in the links section.

X2 on what broncnaz said.

I'll add to that after seeing where you are located. By not having that snap ring on there(unless you use the bolt and washer) will let the axle have some in and out play which results in not keeping water and mud, etc out of the assembly. It will work just fine as he said just be aware you need to check your bearings and seals more often if you are in that environment.

X3 The bolts that you need are 2-7/16" x 3/4" FINE Thread & I used 3/8" fender washers & drilled them out to 7/16".

I just did the horsepower conversion on my '69. The bolts and washers for the axle ends were included in the kit. Check your stuff again maybe you already have them.
