Questions for Speed Density EFI guys

Decided to attempt EFI into a 68 1/2cab. Have the engine, non roller, 86 5.0. Also have 87 h.o.upper and lower with complete engine harness and computer. I know about the firing order difference. What I need info on is what needs to be removed from the harness.
I want to keep the egr system but do away with smog. Can I get rid of TAD/TAB with out throwing codes? I have read so much stuff on the internet mustang sites with different answers.

Tad tad use resistors to not throw codes.

Ok thanks. Checked different websites and most recommend a 75ohm 3 watt resistor. Is there a certain style? One site said wire wound. Are there differences?

So are you saying you're going to be converting it to a Mass-Air system? Sounds like it, but I wanted to be sure.
The firing order can be changed with a quick cam swap if you want everything to be perfect. Not just an external bolt-on of course, but not really that serious of a change either if the engine is already out of the vehicle.

The first thing that popped into my head regarding the differences, other than also having to add a MAF-meter obviously, was to make sure you retain your MAP sensor, but disconnect the vacuum hose from it's end and this makes it a BAP sensor that your new computer will understand.

Good luck. Sorry I don't have any electrical insight for swapping things around. But with the computer and harness matching each other, most of the rest of the stuff falls into place.
Plenty of people have gotten away with the injector firing order not matching the cam, but getting the ignition firing order out of whack definitely is not fun.

So have fun!

Think he is staying SD, just wanted to know how to bypass some smog stuff, which is accomplished mostly the same between 86-88 SD and 89+ mass air 5.0 EEC's.

Going to keep speed density. Not planning any big mods, just pretty much stock. Wanting to do away with smog with no codes. I know I will have to re route some wires in the harness for start solenoid.
