Quick Fuel Line Question

Hey All, I have a quick fuel line question, I am running a new line from my BC 24 gallon tank to my holley mechanical fuel pump. And then up to a holley 470TA. What size line should I use. Looking through the summit mag for ideas everthing is in AN sizes. What size should I be looking at. And does anyone have a preference on brands. Aeroquip, Russell, Earls, or Summit. As far as fittings go. And the last issue, on the fuel line going to the tank does the line just press on and get clamped or is there a special end to hook up to the BC tank. Sorry about all the dumb question but this is the best place to learn. Thanks 69sport

I just made new lines myself, I used 5/16" hard line from summit. I used rubber fuel hose and clamps at the connections (tank, fuel pumps,filters...). It went togther real well. Some us 3/8" line, but its over kill unless your running an engine that needs a lot of fuel. I also used Aeroquip fittings (from summit also) and was happy with them.

I should double check or someone correct me if I'm wrong, but AN numbers are the number of 16's. So 6 AN is 6/16"(3/8) and so on. I can double check my fittings tomarrow to confirm this.

my recollection is 6an is 3/8. I'm plumbing mine with 5/16 metal brake line from NAPA. Using rubber fuel hose and clamps to make the connection at my tank, fuel pump, and fuel rail (EFI rated for the input).

Not to hijack but is there anything wrong with just running the rubber fuel line all the way through? When I bought mine it didnt have any metal lines in it.

rubber could be burned in two by exhaust,
pulled by a limb,
collapse under vaccuum,
dry rot
I'd change that out to a hard line and feel safer.
