Hey Guys, I'm looking for advice for a new radiator. My rig is just a street driver on the weekends. I have a 302 automatic tranny. Not sure as some prices from the vendors differ dramatically from $250 all the way upto $600. Any help would b greatly appreciated. Was thinking aluminum, but other than that not really sure. Thanks

Stay with a copper radiator, would be my choice. In most cases aluminum radiators are not repairable.

A copper/brass rad for an eb at AZ is about $169 bucks as of 10 years ago.
Prolly not much more now.

A Champion Alum. rad is about $160 bucks on ebay.

The rads you see for 3, 4, 5 hundred bucks are better but if you do not need the additional performance then I guess you do not need to go that route.

Go with copper/brass. The aluminum are brittle and prone to corrosion unless you're a fanatic about the correct antifreeze mix. The copper/ brass dissipate heat better and like theyve say. You get what you pay for. If you sit in traffic in high temps spend the extra $$ for a good one. Also stay with the 3-core. Most of the 4-core swap tend to start leaking within a year.

This is a true statement. Epoxy is a temporary band-aid fix.

This is my aluminum scrap pile...

My next radiator purchase will be a copper core radiator.

did a quick search and Rock Auto has them as well as Amazon.......

Mad - Rock Auto will ship this via DHL to HI for 66.99 bringing the total to like 281. Not far off the Amazon price.
