Random dying

1976 bronco I’ve been owning for about 2 years. EFI , 351w. Recently when I start it up and put it in reverse it will die once I take my foot off the brake. Also randomly when I’m stopped at a red light or stop sign in idle it will randomly die. Until this week I didn’t have problem putting it back in park and it would start right back up with a turn of the key but this week I had to try to start it 2-3 times before it would start up. And once while I was slowing down and put my foot on the brake to get in a turning lane it just died. From reading threads on here I kind of suspect a vaccum leak but not 100% sure. Anybody have any ideas what it could be. Also I don’t have an rpm gauge.

What type of fuel injection is it running? And do you have any information prior to you purchasing it, as to how long ago it was installed?
And not that it will for sure help, but if you have any pictures you can share from under the hood, you never know.

It’s a fast-ez EFI. I believe it was installed about 3 years ago. I did connect the hand held computer to see if I had any error codes after it died once I put it in reverse but nothing came up . Kinda stumped

You should probably start by figuring out a way to check fuel pressure. Fuel pumps have a habit of dying early these days. You might find that you’re getting momentary pressure drops. Or even a full-time pressure drop, that’s allowing it to run still, but not at it’s peak efficiency.

Is it equipped with a return line?
