Ready to do initial start on 96 Explorer 5.0 swap.
Primed fuel pump by grounding solitary wire in test port per RJM instruction.
I have a Innova 3145 code reader and RJM harness.
Turned ignition to run, plugged in reader, turned it on and pressed Test/Hold.
Nothing, no codes.

???

Tried turning on code reader first then key to run position, nothing.

The RJM harness test port has two wires that line up with two of four code reader plugs.

Bad CPU. Hope not.

Should I give it a crank to see if she fires?

Sure, start it up. You should be hearing the fuel pump for 1-2 seconds after turning the key to run.

I have the same code reader and it also doesn't pull codes. But then again, I also can't get my test light to blink either.

Regardless, mine runs great.

Figured the code reader out.
Have to ground the separate single wire in RJM harness tester.
She ran but gave up after I tried to restab distributor. Will start another thread.

At least she ran for a few mins.
