Can't get my rear brakes set right for anything. I just noticed that the backing plates have grooves that have worn all the way through which the shoes get hung up in ?:? . Anyone else have this problem and if so what is the fix? Also, is there any rear drum size uprgrades/swaps I should do If I have to pull the backing plates off - they are 10 inch drums?......other than rear discs of course!

my drums have some small grooves worn in them, but not even close to having a hole worn in them! being steel, they could be welded then filed back to where they should be. but that'd be a lot of work.

Another vote for welding and grinding/ filing.... been ther done that on several resto type projects when backing plates aren't available.
