Rear View Mirror Tab Removal

Do you fellers know of way to remove these SOB's? As far as I know they are not removable. Thanks.

mine comes off every other year or so. as far removing it when you want to I have no idea. call a windshield
replacement co. they should know.

It seems that they come off with heat......you know when you see people put them windshield shades in their cars when parked and they tuck them under the rearview mirror in a attemp to keep the car cool. well the reflective shade traps the heat between the glass and the shade generating a super hot situation poping off the rearview mirror. seems to happen every summer

grab it with some vice gribs and just yank sideways...
or use the actual mirror on there as a lever arm...

The tab and mirror came off on mine while I was driving down a bumpy road. It actually pulled a piece of the windshield off with it.

They make a solvent to take it off Check at car quest or napa or... .. . . . .

Thanks guys. The only thing that I am worried about is exploding my windshield with the "yank as hard as you can method". It may come to that but I'm going to investigate the solvent. I'll keep you posted.

take a razor blade and work it under it from the bottom and keep working it between it and the windshield and soon it will come off this is how i did it
