I am running BFG 35 x 12.50 tires. What would you recommend for tire pressure for driving around town and some highway? Thanks.

probably around 32-36 psi It all depends some tires like more some like less if you have to much pressure in the tires the steering may start to wander at least it does in my bronco.

It will vary according to the weight of the vehicle, etc. Get some chalkboard chalk, put a good amount all the way across your tread....drive down the street (straight line is best), then check the chalk....if it leaves chalk on the outside edges, let some air out....if it leaves it in the center, add air....you want to try and get the tread as flat as possible along the ground and wear away the chalk evenly all the way across. otherwise somewhere around 32 psi would be fairly close it think.

I have 10 inch rims and currently running 36 psi all around. In terms of weight -- pretty standard bronco and the top is off. Thanks guys.

had 33 12.50 R15s on 10" rims
was wearing the crown, dropped to 30 PSI to prevent that.
Your 35's are the same width and on the same rim. I would expect about the same results.

They start getting a bit squirmy around 26 PSI on the street. I could tell from the way it pulled out of the neighborhood if they were low.

Short answer, around the low to mid 30 PSI range is a good place to start. Your results will vary.

I ran 35" BFG A/Ts on 8" rims usually around 28-29. Like Broncobowsher said, at 26 I could feel them get just a little loose.

My 35 bfgs like low to mid twenties for street, 8 1/2" wide rims, I don't notice it getting squirly till about 15-18, I run down around 8-12 at the dunes. I used to run 33x15.50 swamper SXs, those I would run at 10 total at the dunes, 3 in each front and 2 in each rear.

Chalk test or driving though a wet spot on pavement will give you a decent idea of contact patch, I find most people run much higher pressure than they need, heck I ran the 285/75/16s on my diesel super duty at 32 pounds for a week in canada running logging roads, no ugly road manners or getting hot that I noticed even when making the hour drive to the beer store on pavement.

1. I noticed after a drive , the super fine dust that stuck to the tire from my garage floor showed what my footprint would be , very well. (dust on tire , not the track on the floor , to hard to see.
2. At 32 psi , BFG AT's 33x12.5-15 on a 15 x10 rim , the wear was all on the crown. Dropped to about 28 and the footprint and ride quality improved dramatically.

Drove it at 25 psi , just for giggles , and the handleing let me know right away that the tire didn't like it.

Short version , play around with your tire pressures a little and see what works best for you.

I run my 33 x12.5 x 15 BFG Mud terrains on a 10" wide rim at 32 psi and the tire wear is real good I have been running them like this for 5 years.
