Has enyone else experienced broken bushings on the Drake SS removable hinges? I ordered a handfull of replacements from WH, but wonder if anyone has used a 1” long flanged bushing. I am beginning to think I should have gone with The Duff’s set.

There was a little reaming involved on the body side hinge but these are 100% better than the stock bushings that fall out.

Any idea how much bigger the duff pin is?

About 1/2"
The Duff hinge is a re-engineered hinge.
The others are a de-engineered version of stock (same pin diameter, but only single shear which you need for a lift off hinge.

The Duff hinges are the best, unless you care more about looks. I have seen some steel hinges (not stainless) that were sanded and cleared. Looked very much like stainless.

Do you remember what size reamer you used

Good to know. I was disappointed with the duff hinges because of how awful the castings are. Guess I made the right choice.

You’re probably right. Whatever they are the finish on mine was horrible. Lots of voids, not smooth at all. Some had different texture than the others and the powder coat is chipping on a couple of them. I called and they told me this was all normal. My bronco isn’t a show truck so I can live with it but I think they need to be up front about it and show better photos so people know what they are getting.

The Duff lift-off's have some flex to them when I switch back and use my OEM Doors. The Doors seem to drop a very little when you open them.

I was thinking of ordering a set of the stainless lift offs for the 72. Is this a common problem with em? Are the duffy that much better? I'm not building a show truck either but thinking about a cheap paint job. I also have a set of the wild child lift offs on the shelf from a mass buy way back. The finish on those ain't so great. That's why I was thinking of going stainless. Anybody got some pics?

I'm thinking about SS too and can't decide between Duff and Drake

That sounds like an adjustment issue. I remember spending a LOT of time dialing in the lift off hinges. They were NOT a bolt on and go part. Aligning the door was half of it, aligning the pins to be in line with each other so they didn't bind was even harder. It was a couple hours per door.
