Dive in and see how bad they really are and then decide how much work it will be. Sounds like with the parts you got it was a good deal no matter what. Don't be skeered, go for it!

Those old horses need some TLC for sure but if the price was right, I would go for it.

Run. You will be miles ahead starting with a better example. Yes, it will cost you more initially, but in the long run you will be ahead.

You would be better off starting with a bronco in better shape. It would also be less expensive in the long run. But..... The advantage to working with a basket case is you have nothing to lose. The whole point of the project is the two of you working together and chasing down his goal. Advantage is he'll learn how to do everything without worrying about something that is already nice. I know this because my son wanted one at age 7. Worked odd jobs and jobs with me and at age 10 bought his basket case. Time flies, we worked on it almost every night . He's a freshman in highschool shop now. He set up the gears in the 44 with a bit of help from his shop teacher this fall and it was pretty amazing taking him out winter wheeling for the first time in his bronco with him getting an opportunity at the wheel after tackling his first project without me...... It's still a test mule for sure but I'd take this bronco as my personal ride anyday. Reminds of the time spent . Priceless

I would save them.... But then again I don't own any Broncos that were actually in one piece when I bought mine...so far I have started with 5 basket cases. 1 done and 2nd in progress. This 2nd one is my 15yo sons. The first begin and end is below

Since you live in Wilmington you may have seen my Bronco when it was for sale. I bought it in Wilmington in September. I had to bring tires, and ratchet strap the body on to get it home. But it's coming along.
Good luck with your project.

My thoughts, if you have a good frame and a clear title, everything else can be purchased. Salvage everything you can from both and plan to buy the rest. You could rebuild one. But as everyone said, it takes TIME and MONEY. Lots of time. Those build shows are like "So, Tom and Jerry are going to replace the cowl". Go to commercial and when you come back the cowl is in place. What they don't tell you is they filmed that sequence for three weeks and Jerry beat the hell out of Tom because he got so fed up with alignment problems and snapped.

Seriously though, I would tackle something like that again, even after going through it all once before. You bring something like that back to life and doctors won't be able to get the smile off your face.

That turned out nice!!! love the green, I think with the hardest part for us will be at the end choosing a color, I paint boats for a living and my son and i have a different eye for color

Where are you located. I'll give you your money back one just one of them and you can keep the other and spare parts if you're close enough. I can't find one around here even in that shape, much less for that price. I want another one so bad I can't hardly stand it, and now my wife is on board too and is searching hard for one.

Dang, that would be a long trip from central Texas. Don't think I can get the wife THAT on board. Why does it seem like all the barn and pasture finds are happening out that way these days.
