Restoring Stock Steel Wheels

I replaced some old '80's era wheels and tires with stock steel wheels and BFG AT tires. The wheels were a gift from an old friend at Lutesville Ford and they had been in a barn for many years - he said they had been through two floods... so, I got the wheels and set to work cleaning them up. First I washed with a degreaser and a stiff brush. After drying, I spent some time getting to know the wire wheel and drill. That really did most of the hard lifting but afterward, I used some 180 sandpaper and a scotch-brite pad to get the tough spots smooth. After a wipe down with "Pre Painting Prep" by Eastwood, I put on a couple of coats of Eastwood's Silver Rust Encapulator. For the final color, I went with Wimbledon White in a rattle can straight off the shelf of my local Autozone. Overall, I think the results were pretty good.
