I used these guys to update my factory radio. Still looks the same, uses the original knobs to change bands and tune etc. But now my factory AM radio is AM,FM, bluetooth, has aux input and also accepts flash drives to play mp3's, also can take phone calls through the radio now.

For you that are having bad reception issues with a RetroSound radio, have you called the company yet? When I had a customer with this issue, they replaced her radio and the problem went away. So unless she, or her installer also did something else at the same time, the new radio fixed it.

They did ask her to check a few basic things with the antenna and a couple of other questions, but it was pretty easily determined that it was something with the radio.

Might still not have as good a reception as some radios of course, but it shouldn't be as bad as yours sound like they are.

If you did already give them a call, what did they say?

So Paul, are you suggesting we by-pass the Bronco Vendor? I ask because the one I purchased two months ago seems to have started having the issues described. It has a brand new S-Drake antenna.

I have difficultly pulling in 98.5... None of my other rides have this issue, whether it be factory or aftermarket radios.

In this case, with this company, yes. We're generally happy to do the legwork, but they prefer to deal directly with the end-user when possible. That way they can get all the dirt on what it's doing and send one out quickly if needed. All without having some pesky sales person in the mix!

Not all manufacturers want to do it that way, but the time I talked to them, even though we dealt with it initially through WH, they finished up directly with the customer.
They may have changed that attitude, but that's what it was the last time I talked to them.

Oh, and while you're talking to them, ask them if they can make it a little smaller so I can use one in my dash with the A/C will 'ya?;);D

So I called retro radio and spoke with Tech. He asked me to confirm a list of items and that certain features were - OFF.
I called back and explained everything he asked about was already in the position he requested.
Ok, so now they would like me to ship just the main part of the radio back to them for them to test. I filled out a "Request to return form" with all my info and are waiting to hear back. My unit is 3 months old...
Since the swap meet at WH's is this weekend I told them I would ship it next week. The shipping part seems to be on my dime... I will report back as things happen.
Retro Sound radio is based out of Henderson, NV.

Just for giggles I am going to try another antenna to see if that makes a difference... Just in case the Scott Drake replacement antenna is not up to snuff.

So I have the forms turned into RS and I decided to try another antenna I had lying around... Fixed length Ford from a Fox Body Mustang. Before I pull the radio apart and ship it...

The new Scott Drake antenna is bad???

Every channel that was sort of coming in, is now coming in great!
Those that were not, are coming in much better.
Now in dialogue with WH's to do a warranty replacement, they are shipping one out.

Good result Doug! Glad to hear you don't have to wait for them to figure it out, and that you will get a new antenna too.
Or worse, waiting ony to figure out that nothing is wrong with the radio and send it back to you!

Glad you can pull in all that Polynesian rap music you like so much now...;)

I installed my retrosound, then installed the Dash mount USB extension. I expected it to act as a phone charger but it won't;(
Does anyone know if the USB ports are for USB in only, with no charging ?

USB only, I called and asked. seems foolish. I'm going to have a stereo shop make it hot
