Rigid vs. Totron / Cree?

I have seen both of these brands of Light Bars but not matched up side by side. The housings, or lights themselves, actually look very similar other than the Rigid Industries price.

Both seem to be excellent quality. What are the differences? Positives and negatives of each? Why would I purchase one over the other?

Comparing apples to apples which one has better performance / light / Beam. 20" Combo Light Bars for example.

Probably no help but Id go with a US company if at all possible. Rigid has a big name but pricey. All depends on what your into/looking for. A lot of people frown on the chinese stuff but it seems to hold its own in this case and is probably worth the price.
Supposedly the cree lights are top of the line. In the end if you get lights with compareable specs you probably wont know the differance. Other than whats left in your wallet.

I would love to always buy American and better yet, support the small company too.

The housings look similar to each other, if not the same and the specs are similar too.

Totron / Cree has a 1 or 2 year warranty and I believe the Rigid industries has a lifetime warranty which is huge. But with the price of the Rigid lights I can get 3 of the Totron version.... Is this the only thing to compare?

It is possible that Rigid uses Cree LED's.
That would be nice... Double USA!
I hope Rigid doesn't get priced out of the market with all of the Chinese
manufacturers, they make real nice products!

Highly possibel that rigid uses cree. But they may do there own electronics that power the LED's That may be where a lot of the differance is. But I would kinda think that if cree is the fore runner in LED's you would like to say thats what your using.

Hard to really say as nobody is really doing side by side testing of these at least nobody that I know of. Well you can compare lumens, lux, wattage ect. Its very hard to compare when one company says X and the other company says Y and may not even rate things the same. then you have a pretty big cost differance. Go with what you can afford. You'll probably never know the differance. From what Ive gathered tortons customer service is ok and very few people have had any issues with the lights to begin with.

Might also look at KC hilites they do LED bars as well. fairly cheap and are US based. Dont know if they have anything your interested in but its worth a look. It appears KC uses Cree LED's

I have test the Chinese one in a light chamber, the color and lux matched what was advertised and current draw was good.

I tested various sizes of light largest was a 24 or 30 light bar.

I see cree and 'like cree" on advertising would not really care as long as the long term they work, more shit to go wrong than the base LED. shock & vibe and good electronics design & assembly play a bigger factor than base LED.
