If you have a 4.5" back set, the back edge of the rim will hit the tie rod. Should be safe with a 4" back set This is for 15" wheels
When running a 17" wheel, a 4.5" back set will work. The tie rod is inside of the wheel bell.

I'm running 16x8 allied beadlocks with 3.75 BS. I also have a set of 16x8 MT classis II's with 4.25 of BS. I have no problems with the wheels. I was looking to get 17" wheels, but came across a good deal on both. I got all 5 beadlocks with 5 IROK 36x13.50x16 bias ply's (spare brand new) and the 5 MT's along with a wildhorses track bar riser for $1200.00 from a Ford Ranger guy on Pirate.
