I installed my "new to me" roll bar tonight in my 66 and I had to unbolt the wiper motor from the frame to let the windshield down. there doesnt seem to be a place to mount the motor where the linkage wont hit the bar. any ideas or solutions are appreciated. BTW I converted a later model wiper linkage to work with the 66. I dont have vacuum wipers. Thanks

With the design of that bar, looks like you will have to use the dual wiper motor system. dont know who sells them but i have seen them and they will fit under that bar.

I was afraid of that. Is anyone interested in an electric wiper set up that will bolt right up to a 66-67 windpw frame. modified it and it works great. Passed TX state inspection in March. If I have to buy the individual motors I'll sell this set up. I was hoping someone had some luck modifying the linkage to squeeze past the roll cage. Crap...is nothing easy with these thangs???

A friend (Motoman) has the same issue. Plus I've never liked the way my wiper linkage stick out so far from the windshield. So... I've got the parts (tubing and rod ends) to build new wiper linkage that will mount close to the windshield frame, and will mount the motor with the shaft and arm facing the windshield frame.

Might take me a couple weeks to finish, since I've got some other projects taking up most of my time (rebuilding my motor, etc). But, it really shouldn't take too long to do. When I finish, I'll post up some pics.

The wildhorses kit doesn't hit, but the passenger side wiper only wipes 90 degrees. They now sell a special switch that syncronizes them, but it costs a bunch. Are you sure a wiper drop bracket won't work?

Drop bracket would not work either. the way the linkage spins it would hit. I looked at dropping it down but its right in the sight path of the passenger and that wouldnt be any fun for my son. Thanks

I would really like to see pictures of that before I spend $200 on non synched motors. Thanks

wiper problem

Stop the press. I just had the same problem when I installed my roll bar 2 weeks ago. this is what I did. I put a slight bend in the long arm bending it toward the windshield. not to much. Than I took the wiper pivot arm that hooks to the motor and straightened it a little. Took a couple of tries to get it perfect. Than step 3 the motor bracket I had to oblong the 3 mounting holes. When I put it all back together I did not tighten the oblonged motor bolts. When it all looked like it would work I started the motor with my hand on the switch. As the motor turned it centered it self to the correct position on the holes. That is where I tightened the bolts. This took a couple of tries Like 10 times really bending and straightening but now it works great... Good luck
