I have a family style rear cage only (behind front and rear seats). is there anyway to tie the rear portion behind rear seat to the frame? There is a cross member, under where the cage pad steps. I am not too excited about cutting out the crossmember or a portion of it. The channel under the floor splits my cage pad in half

Contrary to popular belief: a safety cage should NOT be connected to the frame. It should be connected to the seats & belts, because they contain what the cage is really there to protect - the humans. Keeping the heavy, hot, spinning, flammable chassis/drivetrain/fuel close to the people is a BAD idea. Letting it rip away from the humans is GOOD, as long as the humans stay INside the cage. That's why the seats & belts need to be attached - so the chassis doesn't come through the floor & mash the humans through the cage like a french-fry cutter.

Good info, @Steve83. I’m glad this subject came up as I was thinking about going through floor to frame with driver’s compartment to the frame. Glad to know it is safer to NOT, not to mention easier.
