Rough estimation of sale value

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some help figuring out the rough value of a 1977 Ford Bronco. I’ve done some searching online and in the forums, but prices seem to be all over the place depending on condition.

Here’s what I know:
  • It has a clean title and paperwork from the original sale
  • Located in Indiana
  • It was running and registered a few years ago before being disassembled for restoration
  • Includes a bunch of newer parts not shown in the pictures: body panels, wheels, engine components, interior, etc.

This belongs to my mother, and I’m just trying to help her get a fair price for it. If there are specific areas I should check or things I should take pictures of to get a better estimate, please let me know.

Any ballpark ranges or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I think that sounds fair if the frame is solid, since it's a 77. The new parts, depending on what they are, might add value.

$15K sounds high to me. From that pic alone my guess would be $10K max. More pics might justify a higher price. That rocker is rusted out. What other rust is there?

That said people are paying stupid money for a clear title and a frame.

I know, but someone would jump on it thinking they can just buy a 13K re-popped body and have a brand new EB.... (how hard can it be, right?😂)

I'd have to see the parts it comes with, but $10-12K would be my guess. Look at Bring a Trailer to see what they're getting, Non-Coyote's are getting $35-65K. Then subtract the cost to rebuild the motor and trans (call it $5000), paint (call it $6000), another $15,000 in parts/shipping (suspension, drive shafts, rebuilt differentials/transfer case, fluids, hoses, belts, every little nut and bolt, then all the stuff you forgot about like window gaskets brake pads, a million other things), $1000 for tires, $2000 for interior, $1000 for wire harness, and $10,000 in labor, So you're into it for $50,000.+ You might get a little more or a little less. Ask $15K and take $10-12K depending on the parts it comes with.

I appreciate all of the replies. I was finally able to gain access to the rest of the parts and take additional pictures. Unfortunately, the rims and tires that I thought were for this are actually for something else. None of the parts appear to be new either, except for some fender flares. Does anybody have updated suggestions on a selling price? Places to list it online? Somebody mentioned bringatrailer, so I'll check that out.

Is there a tailgate, fenders, hood, and grill? If you can take a picture of the floor pans and inner rockers (since the outer rockers are gone) that would help also. I'm thinking max $10K without any new parts and the right buyer and time to wait for them. More like $8K if you want to dump it now.

California, especially SoCal, has crazy price ranges. I can see that being sold here, in that condition, for anywhere between $5000-$8000.

There are pictures in that album of the tailgate and grill, but unfortunately there isn't a hood. I never thought to check the rockers.

Rockers cut off, rear floor completely missing (cut out), from floors have been patched over. Midwest rust. Not the worst I have seen. Better than I would have expected for that area and the time it has spent there. But still bad. That body is going to take a LOT to save. Initially it looks decent, but all the signs are there that it isn't that good once you get into it.

Then the rest of the parts. You have a lot of un-inventoried parts.

I see 3 options for this. One would be a full build, custom or restore, which would be more money tossed at it than it is worth. Second would be make a trail rig out of it. I think there is enough left to make a fun, and rough, toy out of this. The third is parts. Someone pick this up and sell off the parts to save 100 other build projects. At this point I think the third option would probably be the best. But you would need someone who wants to put the time and effort into selling the parts. At which point the value would be based on the inventory of parts (what's on the shelf and on the truck). remember that the value of the parts isn't what it is worth. Nobody is going to pick all that up, inventory and warehouse that stuff as they spend several years selling it off. And in the end there will still be a pile of stuff that just can't sell and will be tossed.

What do I think it is worth? Sub-$10k. It would take a personal inspection to know how sub that is.

Thanks for the breakdown.
