Loaded with the first two... next stop Kansas City to pick up Steve and then we are off. We are going to run I80 from Nebraska to Reno, Nevada.

Norcalbroncos.com will be there from the 20th to the 23rd. Watch out for the flooding between Rubicon Springs and Cadillac Hill. I read it's 40" deep. A couple people have had their engines hydrolocked.

We'll be home by then... thanks for the heads up. We are all on 40's...but hope the waters go down by then.

Safe travels! I heard just this last week that some people are making it all the way through now.

Some friends of mine were in there weekend before last. Because it was only open on one side, it made for a very busy trail.

They shared some great videos of the water crossings. I captured a couple as screenshots. Not Fordyce Committee Crossing bad, but high enough to take notice.

I also heard 3rd hand that there are plans to do some trail work that has the chance of increasing difficulty in some sections (which is a good thing in my opinion - most of the trail is pretty easy).

Please share pics on soup bowl and old sluice. :)

That's pulling some lbs for a truck 20 years old+! I know the 7.3 has no problem but the chassis has to be letting you know your moving some weight. I pulled a four horse slant with basically the same truck back in high school and it was all good till you had to panic break or tackle a big hill and holy Lord hang on. The new trucks now that weigh 1500lbs more, you can barely tell there is a load behind you. Good luck and stay safe.

My goal is to see you there next year!

I'm sure we will... but I still think we are going to have to do it from both ends. Rubicon Springs is supposed to have 40 plus inches of water still and rising.

The truck has a 96' 12v Cummins swapped in it. It's been in for about 60,000 miles and does great. The load is definitely there... there's been a number of 3rd gear 40-45 mph climbs. Nothing different than the semi's are doing though.
