Ruff Stuff-THE CURE experiences?

I have been contemplating buying this. With a steering box rebuild and some other tweaks I've gotten my 70 to drive pretty good. There is room for improvement always.

I've been considering trying this. Has anyone tried it on typical early 70's Bronco?

I can say positively that the smaller CJ style won't fit. I have one on hand.

Any one try the GM 1-ton style with stock linkage and what did it improve?

Thank you for your help.

They do work, at least in their intended application. There is no need for one on a stock linkage however, so there won't be many actual experiences (if any) yet.
I think someone was talking about doing that just a couple of weeks ago though. Was that you? If not, then perhaps someone is getting ready to, or has already installed one.

But I'm sure GravelMaker would say the same thing (I think anyway!) about not needing one on a stock link setup. The whole reason for it's coming into being is because of the inherent misalignment of the "GM 1-ton" steering setup.
An issue that doesn't really even exist on a stock linkage until they start wearing out.

What exactly are you experiencing?
The good news is that even if you do try it and it does not improve anything, you're not out a lot of time or money. But if it does end up being a boon, it's a win.

My Bronco has the 4-turn OEM box, 7 degree bushings, 37x14 Toyos. I was having some strange feel for lack of a better word. Twitchy etc. I rebuilt the box myself and it is much better. Basically 1-handed at 60 now. Not quite as good as most trucks I have built, but for my first EB project I like it. It is pretty tight feeling.

However, if I can gain a little benefit, reduce the play in any component I would like to. It seemed like a good idea and I do basically get how it works. I like their products etc. but if it isn't going to do much for an EB then I won't worry about it.

You would think with the mass of poor driving EB's out there that you'd hear more about it if people were using them and getting good results.

I installed one with the "stock" setup - I put the word stock in quotes since I used the WH 3-Way adjustable tie rod/drag link kit. Since I put everything on at once, including 7 degree C-Bushings (and ended up with 4.7L/5.7R Caster #'s) it's hard to decipher just how much "extra" stability The Cure added. But IMHO, The Cure Delrin bushing must SURELY be m'oh bettah' than the rubber bushing w/a steel washer; as everyone knows, the whole is the sum of its parts. Mine drives GREAT now at 80+ MPH on the Freeway - feels more stable than my old '67 Corvette coupe did. Of course, with that much caster, I'll prolly be replacing tires every 5K miles, LOL...

I installed " The Cure " and it tightened things up a bit but like Paul said it's made for 1 ton Gmc Tierod/draglink.
