Let me take a moment to reflect on the harness quality. I don't pander to vendors, I manage an industrial electronics business and I have seen many harnesses. Many are good quality, many are merely acceptable, and some are just hack jobs. This harness is VERY good quality.

While my Bronco (the daily driver) is not as clean as 904Bronco's
http://www.classicbroncos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57562&highlight=headlight+harness I would like to thank him for giving me the idea to mount the relays onto a bracket.
Here's my install. I made low profile bracket from some stainless steel and 3/8" thick rubber gasket. The relay mounting nuts are recessed into the gasket. I mounted the bracket next to the battery on the inner fender wall. This seemed most logical to me. Within reach of the starter selenoid/battery hot, body ground, and the passenger side of the harness.

BTW that black tar on my innerfenders I can thank the previous owner for having it "midasized" - that stuff is worthless.

These photos are all BEFORE photos. I have (had) stock wiring, stock headlights (not silverstar nor C4s nor Halogens), but I do have a 100 amp alternator. These were taken Saturday 1/29 at 6:30 pm.

These were taken tonight at 6:35pm. I'll let the results speak for themselves. I am using a digital camera with no flash, The distances and angles are as close to the ones taken Saturday as I could get - I marked where the Bronco stood and where I stood.

Doug & Mark!

Thanks for supplying me with great ideas for my mounting!

I'll be tackling this aspect of my rewiring soon & it really helps!

Where did you get your Stainless stock from? I don't have these types of materials "laying around," and will need to seek it out!

Thanks again!

Man, you guys both did a great job. Unfortunately, I installed mine a couple days too soon or I too would have stolen/borrowed that mounting idea. It looks great! Great comparison pics of the lights too. Mine are certainly brighter and they don't dim/brighten with RPMs any more!

Just to compare how great yours look, here's mine (don't make fun of my bungee cord battery hold down - I LOVE my PO).

Bill- I don't think I have any stainlesslaying around (I'll check) but I'm more than happy to send you a piece of aluminum or ABS that would work. Hmmmm..... ABS Headlight Relay Mounting Brackets....

904/Mark - care to get me some dimensions since I don't have the relay yet???

Bill & msweb, that stainless piece is 6" long. I got it at the hardware store (Menards). Bill, how's the wiring job coming along?

It is 1" wide by 1/8" thick alum flat stock. I bought it at Orchard supply hardware or Ace hardware. The relay/fuse mounting area is 5" long, the mounting feet are 1" long, and the bump out is 3/8". So you will need about a 8" long piece of alum to start with. Doing it in a break is allot cleaner than a vice, but it can be done. Those bends can be tricky, there needs to be some thought put into it, before you start bending.

Don't know that I can bend the ABS that close together but I'm gonna try!

Thanks for the reply!
