Safe distance from water pump to electric fan motor??

That's about how much room I have. Actually mine is tucked in there so the motor is next to the water pump. I.E. If I break a motor mount then it could potentially hit the fan.

I ran with the fan about that close for 2 1/2 years or so and then last winter I managed to drop the frontend on a rock which smashed my skid plate and hit the radiator. The radiator was bent enough that it pushed the fan motor into the water pump and it burned out within 1/8 of a mile or so. (I spent the rest of the day shoveling snow into the radiator and engine compartment to keep it cool) I've since reworked the radiator mounts (It's still bent) and replaced the fan. I also grabbed a spare fan this time which will probably go into my stock of spare stuff that goes to the campsite.

That's about what I have. There is room for flex and movement, but if I break something, it's going to hit the fan motor....
