Well, Steve has been hard at it! Engine is back in the frame rails where it belongs, new fuel tank and exhaust installed, and the tub is officially back on the frame!

New tires looking great. Went with the Coker Tire 7.00x15

A little pricier than the Power Kings, but made in USA. Can’t wait to see how this week finishes up!

Coming along fast now! Front bench seat is finished, rear will be done tomorrow, then they will both be shipped to steve for final install.

Meanwhile, Steve was back at it today, and the old girl has her face again! Looks better than new!

Yep that’s the plan. It was a factory bench/bulkhead truck, and we wanted to honor that. But we also wanted the kids to be able to ride along, so we went with both!

Well, another busy week. Steve has outdone himself again and the body has been stripped and the first stage of primer has been applied! Our pile of parts has started arriving at his door, including a new set of super traxion tires in 7.00-15, an oil pan, oil pickup, new flywheel, and other miscellaneous do-dads. Extra rims are on the way to replace a couple that weren’t salvageable. And I am due to send the jack and jacking hardware I found. Even picked up a spare roadster mirror, but it will probably stay a spare rather than add a second… haven’t decided yet, and I’m open to thoughts.

On my end, I stripped both old bench seats down that I have; a front from a 67’ and a rear from a 66’ with what is left of its original silver upholstery. We are planning to install a rear bench with correct silver upholstery, even though this was a bulkhead/bench roadster so that the kiddos can ride along.

I was in such a hurry I didn’t think to take pictures. The front bench is rough… lots of broken springs and rust, but the tracks move. The upholstery guy took a look at it before I got it over to sandblasting and claims he thinks he can repair/work with it…. I hope so!

Side note, finding somebody to do sandblasting was a real pain, but finally found a shop south of town that would take on the little project.

Got a seat cover in the correct silver matchstick a couple weeks back through the parts section here on the site, and even picked up a 67’ cover at the same time for my dad’s half cab!

As a bonus, I also found ANOTHER 66’ ROADSTER today. Picture to follow in a subsequent post. It’s sitting in a body shop in town, being rebuilt by the owner to be auctioned off for charity. He had no idea it was a roadster, as it came to him with a half cab top!

That’s all for now, more updates to come next week! Happy father’s day to all!

Hi KBooth, I noticed you mentioned that you had a spare roadster mirror. Would you be willing to sell it?

My family is restoring a early month 1966. We are the second owner, first owner was my dad that has since passed. The U13 is missing the roadster mirror and hubcaps. The vehicle is in great shape overall, we are just struggling to find these parts and I'm not sure how to go about finding them for sure. I completely understand if you don't want to part with it.

But if they do, it will have been totally worth posting up the question!😉
Welcome to the forum Chuck!

Sorry to hear about your dad. But glad to hear you still have the bronco in the family.
When you get a chance, be sure to post up some information and history and absolutely some pictures. As everyone will say, we love pictures!😁
Especially if you have old ones with your dad and the bronco.

Welcome and since you've got a 66 u13, browse through this thread, if I don't have your info please send me a PM, thank you.

Hey Chuck!

So the mirror we found looks to be one of these reproductions from the roadsteru13 website:

https://roadsteru13.com/roadster-shop/reproduction-side-mirrors-1966-ford-bronco-roadster/

We are still debating adding the second mirror to the truck, or possibly keeping it as a spare in case of damage or theft, so we haven’t really thought of selling it yet.

Try that link out. They are currently sold out but they may have another run in production coming soon

Tom Carper on FB sells them fairly regularly.

Getting awful close!!!

My father, brother, and I will be heading up to finally lay eyes on our new toy and get to shake Steve’s hand. Hard to believe we have known each other 17 years now and have never actually met in person!

Shipped the seats up to Steve last week. Boy was that not cheap… Got the original 66’ bench seat reupholstered courtesy of a brand new seat cover I found through the forum. Restored the rear bench with all new wood, foam, and covers after sand blasting the frame. Waiting on a pair of reproduction 66’ arm rests to finish it off!

Steve got the hood on today, and the rear seat and seatbelts are installed. Looks a little funny with a bulkhead, but I like being able to bring the kiddos and friends along!

This bronco is finally RUNNING after being parked since 1976! Sounds like a sewing machine. Steve called me so I could hear it start. Sounds like a brand new truck!

In another couple weeks, it will be at its new home in Maine! Looking forward to taking a couple weeks off work and touring the countryside in a BRAND NEW ROADSTER!

On another note, I have listed my 24,000 original mile 67’ F100 short bed to clear room in the collection. If anybody is interested, I have a listing on the forum under the “for sale - not broncos”

Front bench is in, along with the Roadster inserts and floor mat! A few more things to tidy up before I finally lay eyes on her on Wednesday!

Haha I just realized I subconsciously typed Wednesday… I meant Sunday!

Too much time in meetings today I guess…. But certainly wish it was tomorrow!
