Well fellas, I've moved from Key West.

Last month, my sweeheart was offered a position with the University of Tampa that tripled her salary. Needless to say, it was an offer she gladly accepted and the only question was how quickly we could shut down our lives in Key West. The move took a huge effort from ourselves and our friends, but we are very happy to be in Tampa.

Now for the Bronco related aspect of the thread.....

Since I won't be starting my new job until March 1st, I've had some time to pull together some photos of my current project. I have also included a description of the current stats. The only thig left is to install a new Centech harness and this one will be ready for it's new owner.

Dang Pete...You do some fine work. Congrats on the sweeties new job. Your newest project looks great. Whatever became of the purple one that you sold? I am gonna be in Orlando and Tampa March 1-5 to visit my sweetie. I am planning on hooking up with Brian 72 and hopefully meet a few of you Florida guys. If you are available..let me know. I 'd love to get together.

Man is that sweet. Do you build these Broncos per request, or do you just build one and then find a buyer? I imagine it wouldn't take long when they look like that.

Thanks for the compliment.

MOST of the regulars around here will tell you that I liesurely build one at a time and eventually sell it.......only to start on another one. This is the 6th one I've done and I am very happy with it. It will cruise down the highway at 80 mph with one finger on the wheel. It also handles extremely tight for a truck, and if I have to slam on the brakes it stops in a completely straight line. Like I said, I'll install the Centch harness, as well as all my usual electrical goodies (power antenna, stereo system and theft prevention), but then it will be finished........and up for sale.

Thanks,

The purple one was sold last year to a guy in Deleware.

I'm sure we'll get in touch when you get to town. Just coordinate through Brian, cause he knows how to get in touch with me.

If this is your sixth one, then I would assume (I'm being careful with that word ;) ) that you must be making money or at least breaking even. The reason I say that is because it's obvious that you do great work and many guys never get out what they have put into a project like this. Those are some great pics - a rig that I would be proud to own.

I'll give you a call when things get started.

By the way, I was in downtown Plant City last night for the Classic car show. I had the Bronco parked in front of Snellgrove's while we ate. It was funny to watch groups of people walk by the Bronco and check it out.

Pete, The best of luck to both of you in your new positions and nothing but good times in your new home. And as allways the latest ride looks just as sweet as the rest.

Of the six which one do/did you like the best?

Dan

Thanks buddy.

I like this blue one the best. It handles and drives like a new car. The engine is also the most powerful and has always been dependable. Once I get that new wiring in place, this one may be one that I end up keeping for myself.

My second favorite is the dark green one that I ended up selling to Ron Jeremy. I bought that one on the Mexican border in a town named Nuevo Laredo, and I drove it all the way back to Key West with no problems. Of course I installed a new engine during the restoration process, but that one was as hassle-free as a Bronco gets....and looked pretty damn good.

I like the purple one a lot, but the cost just got out of control. I am a believer in the 20k rule when I go to work on one. Also, I didn't like the amount of lift I had on that one, and it always bugged me a little.

YEP, I already miss those girls. The new neighbors on BOTH sides of us are retired widows. I seriously doubt that I'll ever see them jumping on a trampoline in their thong bikinis. BUT, if I do, I'll be sure to post the photos here.

THAT was a HELL of a trip too. At the time, I was dating a girl at UT, so I had an excuse for making a Bronco run. I bought the thing for $900 and ended up selling it for $19,000 to a porn star in a bar in Key West.

Indian Harbour Bch,
Congrats on the new jobs. Too bad you have to leave KW, it's a fun town.
I'd love to hear more about your power antenae setup. Like where you get them and mounting and whatnot... cheers and good luck

Well I guess I made it there just in time to see the coolest pool and backyard bar in keywest. I got to tell ya guys, you missed out. Pete had a sweet setup!

It sure was great meeting you guys and I hope you enjoy the new digs. And the offer still stands, your welcome anytime out here in San Diego.

And the Bronco looks great. You need to show these guys an engine picture though.

So in the new home, is there more than a carport in a hurricane to work on the bronco?

Steve
