Seems like I always miss the mass buys 'cause I'm working on another project when they come up.

Would it be possible to schedule these in advance? Just a though....

So jpoore, you're first. What mass buy are you going to organize and what month? ;)

The problem with scheduling them is that they just come up when someone who needs something takes the initiative to put a buy together. If there was only one person in charge of mass buys it would make scheduling easier, but I don't see that happening. It's way too much work for one person.

Say for example we decided to do a mass buy on bumpers in March, wiring harnesses in April and seats in May. When that month rolls around who's going to decide which exact part to do the mass buy on? If someone's been waiting 3 months for the seat mass buy and then it's on a seat that they don't want it would tend to screw up their plans.

If we could get a few individuals to commit now to organizing specific mass buys in a specific month then we could schedule. But when you approach a manufacturer about a mass buy it might be harder to talk them into it if you say you can't commit to buyers for another 4 months. You kind of lose the momentum of the buy that way.

If anyone has suggestions on how to organize this please speak up.

One suggestion would be to have mass buys in quarters. Every quarter would be designated for a certain type of part. Example...

Jan. - Winter time, lots of restoration stuff going on. Lots of bodywork going on. How about the January buy being something BODY related. Sheet metal parts, roll cage/bar, paint, body working type tools, airline ticket to some place warm, etc.

March - Just about spring time. Maybe new tires, wheels, suspension, all stuff mechanical. Good time for people especially people with no garage to get ready for driving weather.

June - Hot weather months. How about stuff like radiators, air conditioning, tops, interior, trail riding stuff, etc.

September - Fall. Starting to get cool outside. How about stuff to help stay warm. Heaters, weatherstrips, snow brushes ;D , etc.

Nothing will work perfect but maybe this type of system would help. Along with the fact that someone will come along at any time with a mass buy of their own. Things could be changed around to any month so you guys can get one in before Christmas time ;)

In regard to what Admin said-I might be totally wrong here but when you said that the bumper would come out in say March, tell exactly what kind of bumper you are going to do the mass buy on so people know straight up what they are getting and if that is not the bumper they want then they dont have to wait until March to find out and be dissappointed. I could be off on that but it seems logical to me. But scheduled mass buyes would be really nice cause you know what is coming up and you can prepare and start setting aside money (for us poor people) or whatever. Like this Rust Bullet buy will be my first mass buy-really excited!!!!!Just my 2cents.;D

Let me know if ya want Me to contact Duff's about another Bumper mass buy!!!!!

I am sure they'd be hip to another mass buy and I have some-what of a rapore with them from the 1st buy.

I got their front bumper on the 1st mass buy and would love to get a rear, I had NO negitive feed-back in regard to ANY quality issues about the bumpers everybody recieved the 1st time round, rather all I know of were VERRY happy with them!!

BUT... let me know, if not no big whoop

Hey James, we've got one just getting rolling for some Cibié H4 headlight conversions. No details yet but if you're in need of better lighting, it's coming.
So stay tuned and pre-warned!

I can't wait for a mass buy on the Proto Fab rear bumper that matches this one. Has anyone heard of a release date?

Yes that would be the way to do it. Come up with all the specifics a few months ahead of time. But that's the part I think will be hard. Vendors might not see the buy as for real if it's several months down the road and there aren't any concrete buyers yet. Maybe it's not as hard as I think.

If anyone wants to get something like this going feel free to pick a product and pick a month.

I would be down for a duffy buy. I do like the idea of setting something up a little ahead of time. Power brakes anyone?

I'd be in for a Proto Fab winch bumper or a CORE Roll Cage . Hopefully before June.
