Huh, I never noticed that...there's a halfcab back there! Yes, thats it.

I'll find my screw picture of 049. Interesting that 036 had screws. I've owned at least 10 Broncos, closer to 60, and they've all had the same style rivets you see on most all data plates on Ford cars. I'm sure its just a coincidence that the earliest 50 or so Broncos have different rivets... or random rivets.

Not early by "early" standards but early Sept. This from the one I brought to SC. I've got no reason to think it's ever been repainted. Wondering if the screws were replaced with these though. Vin here does match the vin on the frame.

I love the circled DSO and arrow. Those are ford bolts.....not hardware store stuff. Not saying it's factory, just the facts.

Over the years I have seen about 25% of the vin tags with these screws. The other with the traditional rivets. Just thought I would add here!

I too have seen a few 66's with the same factory style screw. The screws are the same size as the ones used to hold the starter solenoid.

Well for the record the prior owner of #51 must live lived by same hardware store too... because the screws looks like 36 & 49's. lol

Seems they had the correct rivets even in the prototype shop.

No one has brought up the SIZE difference between 732000 and 732006 trim tags. I would think both broncos were a few hundred feet from each other on the assembly line that day in August of '65.
Did 732000 go down the line days or even weeks before the others? The tag is more like the size of F-100 tag. Is there something about this Bronco we are missing?

That would be because it was supposedly produced in the prototype shop at another facility, not on the assembly line.

The tag is also not on the kick panel, but on the driver's door.

Probably produced at the Allen Park assembly area? I'm curious how many were produced there.

If I had my guess, they decided on the kick panel because of the lack of steel doors on the U13. So there is a possibility there is a U13 somewhere in between 000 and 006 and that is when they figured that out.

Hmmm. Makes you wonder why they waited until '68 to do that on the Bronco. ?:?
