one of the items i've come to rely on most often over the past few years while in the garage is one of the battery powered led headlamps. it's at the point where pretty much as soon as im heading into the garage, i put one on. day or night , it doesnt matter as the extra light can come in handy. and there have been many times where i didnt expect to need the light, but found out i did while both hands were already in use. it's a convenience i consider almost essential, but rarely see mentioned with garage work. i know its saved me significant hassle on many occasions.

i spend a fair amount of time outdoors and have been invovled with search and rescue work, so i've checked into as many light sources as i could find available. the one i find most useful in the shop is black diamond's moonstone. super light. no extra cords to a battery pack.4 leds are bright enough to do work in the dark. and about 80 working hours before a battery change.

...just wanted to mention.

yeah those things rock... my dad got me one, he has a black diamond but i like to travel light so i have (cant remeber the name) one that has a build in head band that coils up inside the light when you are not using it, it can fit in the palm of my hand and i leave it in the bronco in case i ever need to check something out...

I use one of those too. I have a cheap Rayovac version from lowes. It is invaluable for use under the dash or any other dark spot.:)

Thanks for the idea. I'm getting some this weekend. That comment SACHEM2000 made about the under dash thing pretty much decided it for me! ;)

Under the dash. Nothing makes me cringe as much as having to fix something under the dash. :(

Sorry had to hijack for a moment. ;D

When I work on airplanes I use a pair od glasses that have lights built on both sides of them. That way the light is shining exactly where I'm looking.

I have had several over the years, but have never considered using one while working on the Bronc. Thanks for the tip.

Here is another good source REI Good selection, and I have shopped there since I was a little kid.
