Should I add a rag joint?

I converted my 68 steering to power steering and connected my linkage without a rag joint. When driving I can feel vibrations in the wheel and I’m wondering if I should add the rag joint. I see that all the factory power steering setups have one so I am wondering if I should add one. Seems like it would absorb some vibrations.

Pic below is my setup currently.

I currently have only a very minor high frequency vibration in mine with the same setup. I always expected to use a rag-joint, or vulcanized isolator, but in this case, I’m not going to the trouble yet. I still feel it would be better, but it’s not bad enough right now to make a change.

All of mine are like yours...just the two u-joints.

Good to know. I only feel a little vibration. It’s hard to describe. Kinda feels like holding onto a speaker. Glad I confirmed.

I need to rebuild my column. It could be amplified by the looseness of my bearings and no spring.

Thanks for the feedback.
