Ahhh...l lost track of everyone when the UCORA forum folded. No snow bashing on a wheat field? ;) I imagine it’s fun to keep everything running up there in the winter. Diesels are particularly fun in subzero.

Scott

There is that and I moved 1000 miles away to ND.

I miss wheeling in general. There isn't much of anything up here.

Yeah, I miss that forum! (I've often thought about you!) I suppose I could talk to some farmers about romping thru their fields, but so far it's been a somewhat mild winter. Any snow we've gotten has melted away. There is some wheeling about 2.5hrs West of here with a club called Cliffhangers, but it's private property and my schedule was just not aligning with theirs this summer/fall. Perhaps I'll get after it this spring!

I installed plug-in heaters on all my diesels and there are many parking lots that have outlets for you to use. I own 3 diesels with the bronco being my only gasser. I am hoping I can avoid the inherent issues with freezing diesel fuel.

Well that just ain't right.. :(

Was just looking G-maps and North central ND is only 6:30 from Rapid City which would be a good vacation and good wheeling. 1sicbronconut lives there if you had questions. If you’re East it’s obviously further.

Don’t know if they use B10 mixes at all up there, but you have to go heavier on additive if it’s involved. It adds needed lubricity but clouds and gels at higher temps. These modern engines have such low micron filters it doesn’t take much to plug them. And yet they need added lubricity that low sulfur diesel lacks. I’ve seen warnings of blending in #1 diesel yourself. Low sulfur #1 is low on the lubricity scale and evidently can be hard on newer engines without additional additives.

Might be frozen lemonade in your case! ;)

Yup! I will be much better this summer not having to settle into a new house and all. And my bronco may come home from storage if there is a blizzard in the forecast. That'll be fun!

After blowing the p/s box front end cap seal, and getting my wheeling fun dealined for the 2nd time at SMORR due to a p/s box issue. I am doing some research to either install a better/quality p/s box (if possible) or at least do something to prevent that issues from happening again. Suggestions? Or fix it/tap it to run a single ram assist set up or go full hydro assist. Suggestions?

Go assist if you drive it, full hydro if trail only. either will solve that problem there are also billet caps available if that's a problem. I personally have never broken a cap that didn't get hit on a rock, assist reduces the shock loads on the box tremendously.

Probably nothing, a few decades of hydraulic hammer could do that. Unless you managed to way over steer the box.

yeah... glad it was simple as that.. Could've always been worst

That is a fairly new to me, but yes "used box" least being on my Bronco anyway. Remember a while back (at the very last Howiepalozia at SMORR) I managed to crack the p/s box housing.

I had a guy find a replacement box and then swap the guts/new seals. And the cap I believe is new. It looks very nice and shinny, like new.

I have my knuckle stops set to prevent going past my front axle u joint limits. And I believe that setting it not letting me "oversteer" the box.

I appreciate the input.
