No snow on the bronco but the wife and I went to the woods today, there is snow on the ground.
Thanks Randy, I sure am enjoying it! I just wish gas and fuel prices weren’t so high.THAT'S AWESOME!! so glad you are getting to enjoy it!!
That’s the kind of pics I want to get of mineAs I have already posted in this thread, snow is OK once in a while, but it is not nearly as much fun as it once was! With the right Bronco, it can still be fun for a day or so though. These pictures remind me of a wet, heavy 12-14" snow we had a few years ago and I just had to go hunting! It was a challenge getting to my spot, but I did see some deer....
Thats awesome and I think would have been a blast. My whole neighborhood would sled together when we were kids, some of the best times in my life!!Chains work great in "sugar snow". Snow that has frozen & thawed repeatedly has essentially zero traction. Most embarrassing stuff around!!
Once again no exaggeration here- we had a cool spot where we would sled for 5.1 miles averaging we figured with stop watches, over 18mph the entire way. We'd drop from 6,000 ft elevation to about 1900' on the logging road. We'd pack it with the Bronco 4-5x with chains on then everyone at the top but the Bronco driver would hop on their stomachs on the sled and fly down the hill.
Dang we were crazy and looking for cheap fun!!!
Newbies would be black and blue on the ribs from the sled bouncing against them.
Did this every winter till we could afford snomobiles.
I remember those, we used to slide off 5’ walls in the middle of a run. Thayer were ruff landings but still fun and just kept doing it.Simple, cheap activities can be the most fun!
We used our Yankee Clipper 54" long sleds (I would weld braces in to keep the runners from buckling) until we got our snowmobiles-which are not cheap but are a ton of fun.
$21 at our local hardware store back in the day! Still have them hanging in the carport.
