I recently drove my 76 with power brakes and the brakes work but are very soft. It doesn't seem to be as strong as they were. I checked the fluids and re bled the brakes starting with the pass rear, driver rear, pass front and driver front. Still the same. I can stop, just not as strong and fast as it used to be. I see no leaks anywhere and it seems if I let off the brakes and hit it again(pump) it once it gets bettter and tighter. The same time the little (brake) light on the dash is permanently on???
Any ideas, maybe loose hose or bad brake booster?
thanks

Typically a bad booster will make your brake pedal feel very hard, just not a lot of stopping going on. I'm thinking you might be bypassing fluid in the master cylinder. You could either be leaking internally and/or possibly out the rear seal into your booster. Either way, it's probably time to either rule it out or replace it just to be safe, just make sure you bench bleed it.
