Source for HUGE appr. 16" x 22" trans oil cooler... any stock diesels have this size?

Would like to go with a single trans cooler. I have room for up to 16" x 22" but need appr 200 sq in minimum to cool my setup properly. Been using appr 236" the last 10 years.

A single cooler would just be nice. I would use my 2- 9" Spal fans on it.

TIA

It appears the 6.0 cooler is about 14 x 24 or 17 x 24 depending on which web link you're reading :). Is that big enough?

Planning on in front of the radiator with 2 pushers?

24" would be pushing it for btw my crossmember and bumper- where I have one cooler now. Stroppe location I believe. I'll see if a different website has the same cooler with the dimensions I need. ;).

Thanks Todd.

I would run 2 Spal fans on it and leave the radiator open.

Thanks for the offer! :)

What dia in/out hose does that take? Looks like the newer ones that use 1/2" hose...which would be perfect as I can't use the very common and less expensive 3/8" or -6AN

Brian - are you planning on using this underneath the truck where your current cooler with a fan is? Using pushers or pullers?

I was looking at CBR but the thickness is the Bronco deal-breaker. 8.5" thick for close to the surface area I need... course CBR is thicker and probably doesnt need to be as large for outside dimensions.

Yes, TZ, underneath with twin pulling fans since I'm assuming air pressure under my rig is higher than behind the cooler (basically under the radiator).

I don't have any fenders so I'm also assuming that any air coming up from underneath has an easy exit thru the engine compartment.

Remember that CBR dimension is with the fan they provide. The griffin unit would probably get what you need with a deflector from your radiator. Running the u4 car on a hot humid 100* day at crawling speeds actually trying to torture test the cooling system the fan rarely kicked on and when it did it was for moments not minutes. at speeds faster than a walk didn’t come on at all.

I was overheating but the trans was cool as a cucumber out of the fridge.

Agreed in the total depth with the fan
What outside dimensions was that cooler do you remember? I would hate to purchase the smaller appr 140 sq in cooler that's appr 5.5" thick and then not have that be enough.

No back seat and I'd have a dozen options... ")

The Griffin one is an industrial cooler with an industrial fan looks like something off a dozer. If I had any doubts about needing massive cooling it’s my go to. The cooler it’s self is less than 2” thick.

6" depth on that Griffin... Be nice to have ONE cooler do all the work...less hoses, clamps, coolers, crud to go wrong... That's why I was thinking one large cooler...like the one Tasker is sending... 2 Spal 850 cfm fans on it and I should be good- if I can package it. I need to finish my front end. Tube it, clean it up, fitment for my overly-large radiator...

Just want/need to drive it for 6 months in a row... in rear wheel drive! :)
