Speakers in Front?

I am trying to figure out where to mount some 6.5" speakers in the front. I have 6x9's on the rear fenders, but can't find any space in the front. Kicking around Krawl Tunes cage mounted pods, but they are too large anywhere in the front, just limited headroom. Anyone make a box to mount two speakers on the transmission hump, forward of the T-case shifter? Or any other options for speakers on a family cage, in the front? I really want to finish of my stereo system, and two speakers in the rear are not cutting it.

Thank You

Speakers "can" go in the door panel.
If you take the panel off you'll see a hole in the door that will accommodate a 6.5" speaker once you cut a hole in the panel. I haven't done this yet but I believe it is what I'll do.

spare parts and goneballistic have built fiberglass boxes to go in corner of floor to fit perfectly up in there. I'm sure david will chime in

I built my own kick panel boxes. I had to move the e'brake over an inch or so. Right now they are MDF but I plan on using these as a pattern to make the permanent ones out of fiberglass. I'm using 5 1/4" speakers with a swiveling tweeter but I have room for separates. A shallow speaker is a must.

I built a under dash box that sits on the hump that hangs from the dash for my front speakers. Mine has 5" speakers and they do ok. I can't see fitting 6.5" speakers in that space

depending on your cage (if you even had one) I had some marine ones in a sealed enclosure between the middle spreader bars.

I mounted 5.25" speakers in a small panel I made to go on top of the tranny tunnel forward of the shifter. It worked out great and sounds good too.

One of the vendors makes an aluminum panel very similar to the one I made but I can't remember which one.

Pretty sure I've seen someone cut a hole in the kick panel, then mount a deep stainless dish on the backside, then directly mounting the speaker to the kick panel.

Mine came with the tunnel cover speakers. I thought it blocked too much heat.

I put these 4" or 5" in the front under the dash (came with brackets), and two ?" in the back. Can't remember specs, but after Foghat's Slowride or AC/DC, I'm deaf for a bit. Just sayin maybe 6.5" in front may not be necessary.

@No Hay - I was thinking of doing the same thing. Not sure what to use for brackets though myself. What makes a good cheap speaker enclosure?
