@No Hay - I was thinking of doing the same thing. Not sure what to use for brackets though myself. What makes a good cheap speaker enclosure?

The fronts came with very universal brackets. Only use half of the round portion to screw to the wall. Check out:

Kicker 4" speaker #41KM44CW
Kicker enclosure #40KMMTES
Kicker 8" speaker #41KM84LCW
Rockford Fosgate Punch 400w amp #ROCP400X4
Supposedly the rear box is to be MDF not solid wood?

You will not hear ANY road noise or Bronco noise ;D

When I replaced the dash, I put them directly in the dash, taking out the glove box.
One on the left side of the steering column and the other where the glove box was.

I think I'm going this route for a while anyway. Works pretty good and easy to locate without cutting anything. Sorry about the pictures, they wouldn't roll over. Bad as my dog.

I like your set-up
I have the tuffy front box (with the crossovers in back of it) with momo 5.5 and the tweeters on the family cage, they are glued on, not velcro anymore.

I just put a set of 6.5" speakers in my door panel...fitting nicely and didn't have to cut the door, only the door trim cover panel. These are the stainless panels sprayed with Berliner and trimmed with plastic tubing on the edges. Low profile or shallow speakers. You may need a spacer to clear the window mechanism. I don't run with window frames because she's topless year round...but these are shallow speakers and I think I could put the glass back in and clear it ok.

Speaker up front

Fiberglass kick panels from Bronco Hut are awesome. I have a pair of JBL GT629's and I could get by with just those and hear them down the road with the top off.

I took the easy route and just went with a Beats Pill and Bluetooth. Does the job and with 500+ songs in my phone enough music to choose from. Also like the Bluetooth for hands free directions without a GPS....

While I can't take credit for it, my speakers are mounted in the most simple manner possible. The PO made a 7" or 8" square plate out of .125" alum and cut a hole for the speaker. Screwed them to the lip on the bottom of the dash. The speaker point straight down. You can't even see them. They are not in enclosures, so the sound my not be "optimum" but you sure can hear them

I built a Gun Rack that goes overhead. I cut out around the wiper motor .. I believe I used 16 gauge metal. I had the machine shop bend a 3/4 lip on the back side.. Back side being the side closest to my head. If you don't carry a gun over head it could be a storage tray.
But since there was a lot of unused room in it. I MOUNTED 2 SPEAKERS IN IT'S CORNERS. I'VE HAD SPEAKERS IN THE DOORS, & in the kicker panels & a double speaker in the stock location ... I like these in this overhead best.
... I've ended up adding an interior light in it also .

The bright switch is pretty easy to move if it does.

They would be worth it. They aim that speaker up at your face. Killer little speaker pods. I want some.

Took 1 minute to move the bright button and no issues at all

SoCal69 - is that setup custom or something you bought? I currently have a small store bought enclosure mounted in that location but I only had room for one speaker. I really like your setup, especially with the angle of the speakers. Would love more information if you feel like sharing...

For sure @EBGeek,
( this ) is the product I used, I purchased the 54201 (Black without speakers) It's meant for a 5 1/4" setup, but I took a dremel to it and shoved 6 1/2" in there. No mods needed for the tweeter opening. I mounted it with industrial 2 sided tape and ran the wires directly under the passenger seat where I have the crossovers connected to the bluetooth Kenwood amp ( link )

Let me know if you would like more info.
