Does anyone other than Ron Francis make a stand alone harness for a speed density 5.0?

maybe convert to mass air? I think all you need is a QuarterHorse & MAF sensor but still thats probably $250

I think speed density came with 14lb injectors, so also needs 19lb or bigger injectors.

I converted a 96 E350 SD harness to 95 mustang mass air. It's all most the same harness just needs a few thing added and removed. I run a 95 Stang TM04 ECM chipped by EFI_Guy.

Used the entire van ignition which has a remote TFI.

I read somewhere you shouldn't convert a non h.o. to mass air. Is that true? I have a Ron Francis harness I could try to clean up by removing the fuse block. The wiring in the block is a bit confusing. All the numbers don't match going from in the fuse block to the outside strip.
The newer harnesses are much smaller than mine. That's what I am shooting for.

They made some non ho with mass air, different firing order. All depend what motor you are working with.
What 5.0 do you have ? What year ? Lincoln crown Vic etc

Changing over may be more than you want to get into, however if you decide to. The QuarterHorse can change your injector firing order, the distributor and plug wires controls the spark plug firing order.

I am not sure. I researched all the numbers I could find on the block and only came up with it being a 1987 it doesn't have roller rockers.

I don't really want to change it.

A good site for information and wiring diagrams

as for your original question you might want to call painlessperformance and see what the say.

I can call. The one the list like the others I fave found require you to change to mass air.

if your engine is basically stock you can run the SD computer without any performance issues. The MAF conversion is a nice upgrade, but may not be necessary if your engine is not modified.

The Mustang SD HO computer pinout is similar to other Mustangs, but is a bit different than the other computers of those years (Econoline, TBird, Crown Vic etc...), so make sure you know what your car your computer came from and what transmission it had initially. This info is easily researched. Converting the harness to standalone use in a Bronco takes time, but it is not really that difficult if you pay attention to what you're doing. I've done a few, and they have their challenges, but they're not impossible.

Another good thing is that the SD computers are easier to find and cheaper than the MAF ones.

Good luck,

Rich

Not sure if you meant rockers or lifters, but as far as I know none of the engines had roller rockers from Ford. Only roller cam and lifters, not easily visible with things fully assembled.

I'm just bringing this up because I think any '87 would already be a roller cammed engine. Is that right? Or did some still have flat-tappets at that point like the 5.8 engines did?
Maybe with Speed Density they still had old cams too? Very curious now...

Try a junk yard starting to get harder to find but pretty simple lay out, just get the computer

I have the sd computer and a ron francis harness I could clean up. I didn't have any luck figuring out what my engine is. It came with the Bronco project.
Here are some numbers I wrote down a while back:
G7602194
E6SE BA. The s could be a 8 or 5
5H20
These are all I was able to find.
