Ok, so I have my efi swap up and running pretty good. I am looking to hook up the vss as I stalled twice coming off the freeway when I put it into neutral to coast to the light. Luckily no one was in front of me after loosing the ps and pb.

Anyways, tried to drill out the vss to accept the stock cable but doesn't seem to work to good. So, will this cable from autozone work?

I read that one from a 80's bronco with cruise will work.

Thanks

I don't know if that cable will work or not. If it does I would like to know but if it doesn't we make a cable that will fit the EB and the mustange VSS

On Frank's '75, I used the stock VSS & speedo cable from the donor F150. It doesn't screw onto the speedo, but it sits there fine for months of daily driving. It's rare that he has to reach under & push it back on.

Thanks Chuck and Steve

For the price of it I think I am going to pick it up and try it out. At least I can return it if it doesn't work.

Hmm.... What part of it didn't work too good? I drilled out mine and used the stock cable. It's tight to get the assembly into the speedo hole in the transfer case, and, IIRC I had to file down one side of the VSS to get it to lay flat enough to the side of the t-case to fit. But other than that, it worked just fine.

How did you get the two to stay together? The clip on the vss would not go on to the cable. How much did you drill out?

Thanks

Oh, yeah.... It's all coming back to me now!!! :p Been over a year since I did this, so some of the details are fuzzy...

I remember I had to make my own clip. Can't remember exactly what I used. Cotter pin??? I can take a pic when I get home tonight, if you like.

Can't remember the drill size either, but it was whatever size was called for in whatever tech article/thread I read... I'll see if I can find it.

Chuck, just went to autozone. That cable looked nothing like the one in the picture. Had a screw on part on each side. So if I can't make the stock one work looks like I will pick up the one you sell.

Too bad, I would much rather sell something that is already available instead of making them.
PS I ment too bad it wouldn't work, not that it was too bad about ordering from me:)
