Thinking of throwing a 1 day or macco paint job on the 72. Not planning on it being trailer queen or show truck. If I put the trim back on what is better? Try and polish the old trim or buy new?

Most of the trim is anodized aluminium or chrome plated pot metal. Polishing it wont help it any. By the time you put all the effort in it you will wish you replaced it. I have seen some clean up efforts using argent paint and repaint the black stripes but while better everyone who knows Broncos will know it isn't right. Just how good are the reproductions? All those pieces in the Sport trim package will really add up. When I repainted my Explorer package and welded up the side molding holes I don't miss the trim at all but it wont be an Explorer anymore. I figure you want the whole stock package inside out or do what you want since its never going back. In the end you want a nice clean truck when your through.
The anodized trim can have the anodizing stripped off by using iven cleaner or aircraft stripper. Then it can be highly polished but then it has to comtinually polished. Or you could clear powder coat it after the polish
