I think they go together well. I posted this picture in " what have you done to your bronco lately" I got some good response to it so I put it in it's own thread. This dash is built a little different shape than a stock one. It is thicker at the top to allow the 1 3/4'' roll bar to pass thru the top and inside of the dash. I put some recessed LED lights to shine down if needed. it has a dakota digital dash. The one with the dial gauges in it. I built the dash cover out of Mahogany and tried to copy the shape of a stock dash pad. It's a little different and harder. I am still undecided about a glove box or speaker louvers, or just leaving it the way it is. The truck is coming out of paint soon so the dash install is close.

Awesome job Bax, would like to see more pictures. Can't wait to see the final install. They do go nicely together.

mahogany + polished stainless = yacht finish. Always been a beautiful combination!

You're talking my language right there Bax. I'd say that you are short about 8 coats of varnish though...;D
I like the brushed stainless, but it may be harder to keep looking good than polished, so you may want to spray a clear coat on it.

Thats not varnish. Thats hand rubbed oil. I will say it before anyone. I like to rub my wood. A light brush on the stainless as to not blind the driver.

All you have to do is ask,, I am already working on a housewarming gift for the new house. What kind of wood do you like.

The kind that comes from trees?

;D

I did not know the design colors for the house so are you painting cabinets? everything white? are you using some hardwoods? floors , walls , trim? What species? this may be a much safer question to answer.

That's quite a list of questions that we've not given any thought to yet. :p

Looks fantastic. I was drawing up designs with wood on the face, but this is really sharp.
