Started on my removable jerry can mount. Will also have a mount for a yeti cooler. Just the spare tire arm sits off with on bolt, this will as well. Planning on using just a ratchet strap to hold the cans down tight and hopefully rattle free.

Nice. Carrier looks real beefy.

Will the cans have something that keeps them from bashing into your tailgate? Is the ratchet strap a temporary way to hold them or will you have some type of anti-theft device as well?

I'll only carry the jerry cans on long trips. The ratchet strap should suffice to draw them down tight and keep them from moving. Prolly just use a cable to lock them.

I did something similar, my cooler rack and can carrier are both removable. The holes are sleeved and nuts welded on the opposite side so all that is needed is a 5/16" wrench or socket. I used SS cable and padlocks to keep them in place. I also cut down the 2 center divides after this pic to extend only 3" above the frame.

Looks awesome. I was planning on something similar but what are you guys doing about the fact that it blocks your license plate?
