Turning out real nice! I've been keeping tabs on this thread since you started it as I believed we had the same exact pictures in our heads of the finished product & that is infact the case! I've got 2 hoods to combine & I was thinking 2" rise or so on the back just to give a little more clearance & the unique look you've achieved here. I was also thinking of raising the windshield 2" & thus still maintaining the ability to fold it down onto the 2" raised hood center section. Once again, nice work!

Oh yeah, I'm going for desert tan & flat black on my 68 stretch build & will be doing the raised center section in flat black w/ the rest of the hood in tan. I think 2 toning that way will come out sweet!

Yes.....I think that 2"-2.5" rise and the windshield would still fold and latch. This particular Bronco is an early '69 with vacuum wipers and a folding windshield. I am planning to install the footman loop on the hood, but it is not going to be functional. I fabricated a loop that was functional ,but it looked like crap because it had to be so tall (and angled also for the windshield to clear the hood). The hood is actually much more rigid than stock because of the extra bends in creating the "cowl".

You know.......I'm thinking of painting in GREEN! Just not dark metallic green......maybe like Boxwood Green. That probably wouldn't look good as a roof over that mean Stroker from SGA. Muffe' says she can't believe I traded off Blur's hood.....she's the one making me do a hood. I have been driving without one, but it screams...... REDNECK!!!! People look at me funny when I pull into the parking lot, so I've got to cover my air cleaner!

Here's what I put on mine....it was from JEGS, an '89 Mustang GT scoop. Had to cut the back off of it to a) open it up and b) allow it to flex enough to conform to the hood contours. It's ABS and I was honestly surprised to see the 2 sided tape hold it in place....was prepared to pop rivet it to hold in place and fiberglass the seams...may still do that to smooth the lines but it held up through a couple nice runs at our Roundup two weeks back. Total time invested was a couple hours max

Sorry for the crappy shots....will have to take some better ones of the scoop specifically!

Here is my contribution to this thread, the scoop is originally from a 70's mach 1 mustang. Its functional and looks great. They are made of fiberglass though, a hole was cut to make it functional.. The dead motor is a 302, but the guy that I bought it from had a 351w in his. as far as i know there is about 5 other Broncos that have this hood scoop installed.

I with my hood would've turned out that nice! Unfortunately I can't post pics. However I'm not an artist and also found out I'm not a sheet metal worker. Mines too square, but it's better than nothing.

;);););)I can only work on my stuff after mid-night or Saturday afternoon........(Don't tell Ford Man any different!) Really.......Sprayed my hood for "Blur" this weekend. Its Boxwood Green and Black with a few more tricks to come. The photos are in the booth with the clear on. I plan on spraying part of the black with a satin of eggshell clear. (PPG 2002 clear with flatting agent).

"Rare" One of a kind hood.

Hey! I installed my all steel cowl hood last night and grabbed a few photos this afternoon before it was too dark. I will try to make better photos in a day or so.
The hood is all Bronco sheet metal (three hoods into one), welded, soda blasted, epoxy primed (DP40LF), urethane primed (K36), based coated with Boxwood Green and Super Black, clear coated with (PPG DCU 2002) High Solids Clear. The flat black is the same clear with a flattening agent added.

There are a few things I would do different on another.......but may never build another!!!!
Here's a few photos; Critique it like a professor!!!!! Give me feedback....ideas...and if it is too bad, blame it on Sgtcoulter. He got my glass hood!
I still have to wire up the LED turn signal indicators, washer squirters, footman loop and more.....but I'm tired for now!:-[:-[:-[

I think it turned out awesome! Some things I'd do different are maybe an inch less rise overall and I'dve done all the black on the hood with the flattening clear coat and the "Cleveland" in boxwood green to contrast. Those are just MY tastes though and once again, saweet job!
