Indian Harbour Bch,
While pulling out the D44 carrier last night, I popped off the drivers side tie rod (to let the carrier drop out) and noticed the ball joint in there felt kinda crunchy and didn't swivel smoothly. If you were me, would you upgrade to the stonecrusher (or similar) or just replace the TREs? The prices on the TREs after replacing all of them, are kinda up there, might as well upgrade...
Need your opinion.
TIA, Cheers

There was a long post recently (last 3 mo.s) about the pros and cons of rod ends (Hiem joints like the stone crusher has) or TRE's. Look it up, there's some useful info in there. More maintenance for the Hiem joints.

Are you talking stock TRE's or 1 ton Chevy TRE's. The 1 Ton Chevy TRE's are a nice upgrade and cost a few bucks less than the stock stuff.

It all depends on what you think you need. For me just replacing the tie rod was the way to go I didnt need the stone crusher overkill for my type of wheelin but I did do a TRO when I replaced the tie rods.
