Steering Wheel Bushing not working, loose on shaft 72 Bronco

I noticed my steering wheel shaft was loose, inside the shifting tube, after replacing the signal switch. I ordered a new bushing. Put it in and it went through the bearing. I took a rod and pushed it down 6-8" farther thinking it would stop. It still has "slop" in the steering wheel shaft. Could it be the bearing has too large a hole. The part said for 66-73 Bronco....https://www.flickr.com/photos/77159845@N07/50797173486/in/dateposted-public/

Here is a YouTube video of a guy replacing the steering column bearings on his Bronco:

It looks like you’re missing a conical piece that centers the steering shaft in the bearing and takes up that play. The video will show that. There are two bearings in the steering column and the video will show the correct locations.

That's the plastic sleeve for the bottom. It might work at the top, but the top would have had a metal sleeve from the factory.

Plus, you'd have the spring that goes under the steering wheel in there too and that would ride much better on the metal sleeve than the plastic one.

It actually worked in mine.
