Still fighting door positioning

Still working to improve my PS door position on my 70. Just installed a hinge repair kit from JBG which eliminated a ton of deflection but has my upper hinge extremely tight. I moved the mounting position up and removed the striker and here's where I am this morning.

Forgot to add that my truck is currently sitting on a 2 degree down slope.

What's the condition of your body mounts? They can make a huge difference.
Rebuilt my Bronco with a JBG tub kit all new sheet metal, mounts, etc. and had to adjust/shim body mounts to get doors to line up.

Looking at your pics the gap is wide but straight. I would loosen the front body mount bolt on that side and shim/pry it up to see if it lifts the door. Ken

I will give that a try in the next couple hours. I really can't understand why it has taken 3/32"shim on the bottom hinge point to even get it to this level. Thanks

like mentioned when you put a jack under that forward cab body mount you will be amazed at what the doors do. Loosen the body mount bolt, jack up that area slow and watch the door move.

In doing mine (I replaced the posts, kick panels, inner and outer rockers), what I found works best is to align from the back and then move to the front. The back doesn't move, the front can. You are way too low in the back and need to raise it. Either by moving the hinges up or shimming the mount under your feet (it will lift the post).

Well I tried adjusting the body mount and added up 1/4" without notideable change. I went back to recheck measurements and noticed my welding incorporated a condition wher the bottom of the A pillar shifted 3/16" foreward. My plan is to grind away the welds and attempt to re position. I really don't want that much shim at the hinge.

I struggled with the post moving while trying to get it screwed into place. Definitely worth redoing vs shimming.

welcome to the world of door post ....it's enough to drive you nuts! The definition of hanging doors on a bronco is the same as insanity...doing same thing over again and again and expecting different result. I would use a paint marker and mark where your door post are now before you move them, then you'll have a reference, even moving them 1/16" makes a huge difference! good luck

This all got worse after the hinge repair, which makes me reluctant to tackle the driver side hinge deflection. I am planning to move the A pillar tonight and see where that leaves me.
